Dear newly retired teachers,
Welcome to the world of retirement! By now you are probably getting used to sleeping in a little
longer, perhaps not watching for the bus to pass each day, and not consulting your watch and thinking about what class you
would be teaching at that time. (Don’t worry-this is normal and we all went through it!)
What we would
like to offer you is a little piece of the world after retirement. There is a county organization called
the Retired Teachers Association of Clermont County which meets four times a year for lunch. It provides
an opportunity to meet, greet, and socialize with other retired teachers and more importantly, perhaps, keep abreast of what
is happening in STRS and your retirement funds. We offer scholarships to deserving seniors each year, donate
library books in memory of our heaven bound cohorts, and sponsor a yearly contest to our elementary schools involving writing.
meeting is March 18 at noon at the Eastgate Golden Corral. J.S. Bailey from Amelia will
be our guest speaker. She is a local author. As a new retiree, you will be our guest for lunch
at no charge for you.
Should you decide to join our organization, dues are only $10.00 a year, or $60.00 for lifetime. We
are affiliated with a state organization, ORTA (Ohio Retired Teachers Association) and you may want to join that organization
as well. Their dues are $30.00 a year.
Regardless of membership, we would like you to join us in March. Please reserve your meal to Pauline
Caudill @ 734-3834 by March 12. Please let her know that you are newly retired so you will not be charged.
We look forward to meeting you.
